“This place was full of history and culture but the crowds made it feel like a Disney theme park. The guide, Evelyn, knew a lot of interesting stuff but she mostly seemed overwhelmed with so many people. Our group had no lanyards or other means of identifying others from our bus. This was concerning with the multitude of other buses in the village. The craft demonstrations were interesting but the general setup felt touristy rather than cultural.”

“Our family enjoyed the personal touch of this small group tour. The guide was knowledgeable about Dutch history and customs which added to the experience. He timed our visits to avoid most of the large tour buses. He stops at the cheese shop, wooden shoe shop and dairy were cut and dried with a demonstration and time to look around. The stop to see the windmills at Zaanse Schans was a 90 minute stop to see the windmills and town. You could easily spend more time there to see more. My son wanted to see inside the windmills, which requires a separate fee of 17.5 euros for all the open…”

We enjoyed the day What we did NOT enjoy was the lunch as the quality of the food was poor and service very poor, almost rude. The restaurant manager in particular was argumentative, abrupt and confronting. I came to the aid of a young family he was bullying when I saw he made their young children cry. He then became abusive to me. The other members of the tour witnessed this. I was appalled”
